Flesh-footed Shearwater, Puffinus carneipes, AV11512

Physical Description

Study skin of a grey sea bird, with its body in a straight line with its head and tail. Head is tilted so the beak is pointing up. Legs are crossed in front of the tail. A length of dowel is protruding from the abdominal cavity.

Autopsy notes: wet, white chin 21mm, small black and white ovaries

Field Collection

Seabirds bycaught in NZ fisheries that have been necropsied by Wildlife Management International (under contract to DoC). Necopsy data to be supplied.
