Physical Description
Pounamu/nephrite mere, kawakawa variety. Feather fractures and medium translucency. Chipped on both sides and lower edges of blade. Mainly dark green with some patches of lighter green. Signs of mechanical burnishing at butt. Not finished.
Research Notes
Hole drilled with abrasive core drill. Judging by the type of stone, the hole and overall shape it has been manufactured by European technology. —Russell Beck
