Physical Description

Knife formed from a straight razor blade attached to a finely carved handle. Handle has a carved scroll at the top which loops around twice. Triangular pattern carved on the edge of the scroll, and a decoration of triangles, crescents and scrolls on the outside of it. The main body of the handle has inlaid bone in the shape of stars and lines. Also inlaid metal stars, a mother of pearl dot and a brass heart. Line of studs on both sides. Incised "1873" and a rough double masted ship on the side of the handle. A rectangular panel on the handle has ?Chinese characters. Missing a cylinder which would have locked the blade into the handle.
