Fan, Box, F95.44

Lacquer box with fan inside. Box is dark brown with gold inlay on top, depicting flowers around the outside, with two people facing each other, standing by a fence and some trees. Box opens at the front via two hinges and inside is a painted scene of a bird on a rock, amongst flowers. Fan has ornate carved ivory ends, with leaf like patterns. Surface of fan has pastel coloured blossom flowers and a moth. Bottoms of handle have people carved into the ivory. Fan sits inside box in designated area.
