Sword, Scabbard, Knife, D24.302

Physical Description

Japanese sword and scabbard. Short, very curved steel blade which widens in middle. Gold coloured sword guard and fittings. Ray skin handle bound in black cord. Menuki has dragon wrapped around a ?sword. Cloud or water like pattern incised fuchi (piece between tsuba and hilt). Tsuba has decoration of foliage and rabbits. Two small holes in tsuba, and a large hole for kogai (small knife). Scabbard is dark brown with a matt finish. Flower motif in five areas. Green cord also present.
Kogai has narrow pointed blade and a long rectangular handle with Mount Fuji on one side and a pole and hat on the other.
