Physical Description

According to accession information regard this is a pataka carving. Wooden with full length stylised human figure with koruru head figure below. Top figure head has upper lip which curls around and back underneath. Three fingered hands placed in welcome stance on chest and legs slightly bent. Carving pattern relief on chest and legs carved in tara tara a kai style. No paua shell in eyes but provided for in both upper and lower figures. Lozenge style pattern on cheeks of both figures. Lower figure has four teeth.
