Research Notes

? Figures similar to this are carved by many groups for various reasons, e.g. Play dolls, representative of a twin human who has died. It is unclear as to the specific 'purpose' of this figure.

A 'small' wooden male figure in a 'staid' pose. Muscular arms are carved as to form a 'bow' shape - a continuing form running from the back of one hand, up the arms, across the shoulders and down the other arms to back of hand. Puffy cheeks and hair or cap is indicated by many checkering pattern and peaked crest. Large feet standing on a flat base. Light yellow wood shows a small amount of 'handling' patina. General appearance is of a wooden figure receiving little use and in good condition.
