Physical Description

Long sword - katana. Hilt wrapped in rayskin bound with leather. Gold menuki in form of cranes. Iron kashira and fuchi with gold inlay of simple abstract design. Iron oval tsuba with one opening for kogai or kozuka. Bamboo peg in hilt has broken and tang of sword has slipped, loosening tsuba. Plain black lacquered scabbard with kurikata with no cord. No kaeshizuno nor are there holes for kozuka or kogai present. Blade is nicked or notched in several places and tip is broken off. Some pitting and discolouration is present on surface of blade. harmon (temper line) present and forms a regularly undulating line (gonome)
