Physical Description
Hanger, the hilt based on the 1786 British infantry officers sword, blade hanger style, moderately curved, single edged, rubbed with single fuller running down length of the blade. Metal moderately pitted near hilt. Plaque on hilt with engraved lettering "MLR VA" With hilt of brass and ivory grip; Scabbard of leather, chape missing, with mouthpiece of gilt brass with stud. Unusual in having a Hanger type blade.
