The Dunedin City Council invites you to take part in Plastic Free July, the global movement that gets us thinking about the amount of plastic in our lives. The challenge raises awareness of our growing plastic waste problem and supports behaviour change by helping people avoid single-use plastic.
To support and inspire your Plastic Free July efforts, we have free movie screenings at the Planetarium!
Albatross Monday 1 July, 7pm–8.45pm In the heart of the great Pacific, a story is taking place that may change the way you see everything.
Bag It Wednesday 10 July, 7pm–8.25pm Bag It has been garnering awards at film festivals across the nation. What started as a documentary about plastic bags evolved into a comprehensive investigation.
A Plastic Ocean Monday 15 July, 7pm–9.35pm Following scientific concern about small particles of plastic in the ocean, this film looks closely at this issue.
STRAWS Friday 26 July, 7pm–7.40pm With colourful straw animation, STRAWS leaves audiences with a clear understanding of the problems caused by plastic pollution and empowers individuals to be part of the solution.
Recommended for 12 years and over.
