Physical Description

Talwar'. Heavy polished curved blade of Damascus steel (?). Guarded hilt bas-relief symmetrical floral ornaments. Hilt ends raised discs. Tapered languet, three point crown (?) at apex. Oval grip similarly decorated. Disc-shaped pommel, symmetrically decorated in bas-relief, topped by knobbed hemisphere. Iron chapped green velvet scabbard, string chain, attached to ring. c.f. Egerton pp. 131, 137, pl. XIV, No. 646.
