Sword, Scabbard, D25.1448

Physical Description

Short sword - wakizashi. Hilt wrapped in rayskin and bound with black cloth. Plain kashira and fuchi. Menuki of gold flowers against a plain background. Gilded copper tsuba with gold kirin (?) design. Openings for kogai and kozuka. Black lacquered scabbard with regular 'scroll decoration'. Slot for kozuka present but kozuka is missing. Kojiri (toe cap of scabbard) absent. No cord present nor a kaeshizuno.
