Physical Description
Cast of waka huia in British Museum and example of early steel carving. Rectangular base with double sided manaia at each end. Two heads (one on another) run into a central body. Sides consist of double spiral pattern running from one end to the other. Very ornate lide with high relief central spine running central length of lid with Raki and Papa fgures radiating out to edge of lid on both sides Legs on end figures double as lid fittings cut into base..
