Physical Description

Large wide shallow rectangular box with flat lid. Lid has straps of two ridges separated by dots with a symmetrical pattern with four double spirals in a matrix of unusual patterns. Box has a very large, high relief figure of human on each end with heads forming knobs. They are connected by a smaller figure. One of the figures is female but the sex of the other two is not able to be determined. The figures are notable by the very large double spirals formed of ridges at each end of the shoulder and hip joints. Female figures head has two eyes but no shell inlays while the other terminal head has one eye (with paua replaced by R.T.W.)
