Physical Description

Plaited basket - container & lid - covered with cowrie shells and four tufts of purple and red yarn. Basket contains bolls of cotton (with seeds - probably local cotton) AND 23 small brass 'beads'. 22 of brass beads more or less same shape, i.e. small ball with 'handle'. One larger bead is like a small pendant, i.e. lire loop attached to small pendant. 'Beads' likely locally manufactured by cire perdue (lost wax) process.
