Physical Description

Pelike. Low foot, wide belly, narrowing at neck and then flaring out to rim. Two vertical handles run from base of neck to just above mid belly. A figure on each side depicting Boreas, the god of the North Wind, chasing Oreithyia, an Athenian princess he abducted from the Acropolis.
