The address fits in a rectangular 2 part ?maroon ?cloth covered card box (white interior). two lid corners torn. Two page illuminated address mounted in ?maroon leather folder, which closes with a catch in the form of crossed fern leaves. Front of folder has enamelled entwined W S in blue and white and reads "From the Engineers of the Union Steam Shipping Co, of N.Z. Ltd. 1920." Gilded border details. Address has borders showing grapes and leaves on a gold background. Inset scenes (painted) show Auckland Harbour, USSC flag, Mitre Peak, the S. S. Wahine, Lawyers Head and Wellington harbour. It is signed by 18 USSC Engineers.
