Physical Description
Seated Buddha in wood. Has been lacquered in red and later gilded. Buddha is seated on lotus flower which at back is covered by a drape, carved. On either side are flames. Behind head of figure is the sun with metal radiating rays. Buddha sits on lotus but is unconnected to it. Lotus flower, sun and flame elements at rear are loose and connect through wooden rods inserted into the base.
