Physical Description

Whalebone/paraoa wahaika. Indentation on one side of rau/ blade. Other side carved, below handle, with human figure, oriented with head at distal end. 3 fingered right hand rests on stomach, tip of fingers of other hand on thigh. Elongated fingers on rest of left side webbed, other uncarved. Surface decoration - spirals, ridges, etc. on face, left arm and one finger. Handle oval in section, end knobbed and carved with face - manaia with projecting tongue. Chipped right edge of blade. One side discoloured
