Hector's dolphin, Cephalorhynchus hectori, VT169

Physical Description

Cranium of a small dolphin missing the PR nasal and both tympanoperiotics. The ascending processes of the maxillae have separated from the underlying supraorbital processes of the frontals, possibly owing to drying of the bone. Some dried soft tissue is preserved on top of the PL nasal and premaxilla, as well as the occipital condyles.
