New Zealand fur seal, Arctocephalus forsteri, VT2410

Physical Description

Skull and lower jaw of a subadult NZ fur seal. Fragments of cartilage and dried muscle and still present. Specimen presents a yellowish color due to external coating (possibly varnish). Teeth are in place. PC5 is missing from the left maxilla and PC 5 and 6 from the right maxilla. Lower left PC5 is also missing from mandible.
